IJEP is an international peer-reviewed journal on epilepsy and was launched by the Indian Epilepsy Association. Stroke is a major public health problem of enormous epidemiological significance. According to the Erlangen Stroke Registry, in Germany 196 000 persons experience first stroke and 66 000 recurrent stroke each year. With approximately 8%, stroke is still the third leading cause of death in Germany, following heart disease and cancer. Nanoemulsion Improves Antinociceptive Activity of HP1, a Benzopyran from Hypericum polyanthemum (Planta Medica International Open)

The impact of nanoemulsification on the antinociceptive effect of benzopyran HP1 in a mice hot plate test was investigated. For comparison, the same experiments were performed with HP1-free form. The durability of the antinociceptive effect was analyzed at 60, 120 and 180 min. The results revealed that HP1 was successfully incorporated into a nanoemulsion system, given its high solubility in the oil phase. Read more.
